WHAT'S NEW AT AMY GREELY STUDIO Updated 07/18/10 |
A jewelry artist by trade and nature lover at heart,
Amy studied sculpture at the Herron School of Art and Design,
Indianapolis, and metalsmithing at Indiana University in Bloomington.
Much of what makes Amy's pieces so distinctive is her application of
various textures and patinas inspired by personal reflections and small
glimpses of the wider world. "There's an innate contrast between hard
metals and nature we see every day. But when characteristics like the
texture of a leaf or sea shell, a rusty fence or the bark of a tree are
brought into sharper focus, they all become inspiration and works of
incredible beauty, "Amy explains. "My work is reminiscent of the subtle
variations that create the rich textures of our daily lives."
